     Persistent Disequilibrium

Persistent Disequilibrium is a collaborative project by Jeremy Welsh, Trond Lossius, Øyvind Brandsegg, and Tijs Ham. The project revolves around the material exploration of feedback systems. Systems that are chaotic and have a rich potential for organic processes, where the practitioners can influence critical moments but at the same time do not control all the details of how the material takes shape. The work is presented as a hybrid performative exhibition developed through a series of residencies. The exhibition comprises cymatic sound art installations, kinetic works, and video projections. The performances activate these installations, adding diffused field recordings and live electronic layers.

The project started through an earlier collaboration titled Pixels, Frames, Beats & Drones. This project first took shape at Gallery KiT in Trondheim and later in Surnadal Billag. During this project, several other artists were involved, including Piya Wanthiang, Craig Wells, and Michael Duch.
