STATES I/O is a fully digital variant of the STATES setup, which uses a mixture of analog and digital approaches. The basis for this setup is a multichannel digital feedback patch in SuperCollider, which can be controlled via a MIDI controller. The setup works with similar self-balancing techniques that are also used in the STATES setup, but the sonic result is different due to the recursion's digital nature. The performances tend to have a more frantic and energetic aesthetic. The setup was performed on a stereo setup at Lydgalleriet during a live electronics night called Blue Rinse, and it was a performance as part of the Thresholds of the Algorithmic exhibition, organized by BEK in collaboration with ALMAT. The performance has also been used on the WMWM multichannel setup at STEIM on a Connector night.
